Well in deepest darkest Transpontine (South London) you can find them at Brockley Market and various pubs worth their salt in surrounding areas

Paul simon wrote the popular song 'slip sliding away' after he witnessed several northerners skid to their deaths down cobbled streets after trying to remove their pants after a visit to thechip shop near the colliery.

Poignant dont come near it.

Anyone ever had battered chips?

Northern thing - You get the chip - and you fucking fry and sizzle it up like sonething rotten - you essentially fry the shit out of it in a big unruly vat of scottish lard. You fry the bitch to such an extent that it grows little breasts.

Go into any chip shop.in scotland or northern england and you will see this sort of carry on. Ive witnessed gangs of scotsmen pour vats of chip fat over their own heads to try to fry themselves off into human fritters - and ive seen passing northerners try to douse the cunt in gravy and peas to compliment it.

They fucking love offally fatty fried chips and bacon.lardons up there. Some of them smear their pants with chippy oil to luxuriate 24 - 7 in its oily taint.

Re: Saveloy or Battered Sausage?
I don't think they contain brains anymore. They are like big hot dog sausages now.
I like them in batter, but you don't often see it now.

They are horrible.
Made the mistake of ordering andouillette in France as they looked delicious. It tastes and smells just the way you'd expect cooked pigs' colon to taste and smell.

I do love the way mushy peas just slide off the back of a Saveloy.

Saveloy? Knowing it’s brains etc? Versus heavenly battered sausage that there’s a healthy chance it isn’t?

Saveloys stink and are all sweaty. No food should be that colour either.

Pass.

My Local bistro pub did cracking haddock and salmon fish cakes. Just can't get decent ones anywhere.

I actually had a decent battered a month or so back, non-greasy and quite tasty.

Savaloy is wrong

Haddock is the way to go

I had a belting large sausage and onion bap last week at Dagenham market, decent coffee too to wash it down. I was expecting to be on the carsey for the rest of the week but was surprisingly ok.

There used to be a great sausage stand in Greenwich Park next to the statue by the observatory.

Cumberland, Lincolnshire in a toasted bun with English, French mustard and all the condiments.

One of life's small but simple pleasures but sadly it's not there anymore.

I loathe Hot Dogs - shit food

Re: Saveloy or Battered Sausage?
If it’s a decent butchers quality sausage then the battered sausage every time but I’m always curious what’s in either in most chippies.
